Did you connect every component? Pay special attention to the CPU power connector. Make sure the CPU is correctly positioned. Some users have reported damage from improper seating before securing the latch.

the 8 pin cpu is connected i dont smell any smoke or anything. when i put the cpu in i aligned the arrow and closed the gate on it and it was fine.

The system needed a while to start up. A single initial launch might last around ten minutes, and it could be longer depending on your RAM capacity.

as soon as the orange indicator stopped blinking, attempted to power it up an hour later but it wouldn’t turn on. I ran another BIOS update—should I wait 10 to 30 seconds? It clearly won’t boot with power. If I use Q-Flash, it starts up in about a minute, but the CPU light stays red next to the DRAM and then turns off. The GPU fans are fine, and the case fans work during Q-Flash. I currently have one stick of RAM installed.

I don't believe waiting would help; it won't work at all. I can share some photos of the cabling if that would be useful.
