Hello, your setup includes a Ryzen 7 5700G and an Aorus AURUS B450 Elite. The dual-channel configuration isn't working, which suggests an issue with the CPU rather than the motherboard slots. You've confirmed that other CPUs function correctly on the same motherboard, so the problem likely lies with the processor itself. If you switch to a Ryzen 5 5500, do you need to update your BIOS? Additionally, comparing performance gains from upgrading to an R5 5500 and enabling dual-channel versus keeping the single-GPU RX 3060 on a R7 5700G—what are the expected benefits and trade-offs?

Which BIOS version are you using? If your system is up to date but you're still missing dual-channel support, there might be a deeper problem.

Accept the feedback. Appears to be a CPU hardware issue, possibly bent pins. Either way, a single channel can experience up to 50% reduced performance and will cause stuttering in games. Ryzen performs extremely poorly on a single channel. If you have warranty coverage for the 5700G, proceed with repairs. The 5500 is a decent compromise but will still outperform a single-channel 5700G.

Sure, go for it. A 5600 works fine, similar to the 5700g version but without the APU side.

I possess an extra PC equipped with B450 Pro4 R.20 Mb. I can install the 5700G there to verify dual-channel performance. The BIOS on that machine is currently P5.70.

I have a 5500 in a spare PC, which is why I was thinking about swapping it out without getting a new CPU.

The issue might not be limited to the CPU; motherboard compatibility and BIOS settings also play a role. Testing on another system with a different setup can help confirm if the problem lies with the board or your configuration. Updating the BIOS may be necessary before proceeding.

F63 backs the 5700G, unless your CPU’s memory controller is faulty... Try the 5500 instead. If dual-channel works (as it did on the 2600), you’re good. The 5700G seems defective. For the Asus board, the p5.70 BIOS also supports the 5700G—test it out. No further steps needed, just swap CPUs and let us know.
