BIOS settings for Foxconn motherboards
I possess an OEM HP motherboard but Foxconn also offered the identical model with unlocked BIOS settings. I'm searching for a BIOS update or flashing method for my system, but the Foxconn website has been inactive for years. My board is an H-RS880-uATX (Aloe) which matches the Foxconn 2AB1h version. Could anyone assist in locating the correct BIOS? Thanks for your help!
HP doesn't have an unlocked BIOS for MB, the socket is AM4. Photo from HP site shows green but confirms it's H-RS880. The best image I found matches my current PC perfectly. I need unlocked BIOS settings to adjust RAM a bit, since I understand I can increase it further. EDIT: CPU-Z lists the board as a Foxconn 2AB1h.
the chip is soldered at the specified pcie location, making repairs straightforward. clips for programmers can be unreliable, even affordable ones costing a few dollars still pose challenges when reflashing bios. boards are uniform, so no issues here. now it's about locating compatible bios devices. i’d recommend getting a programmer with a clip like ch341a and testing if you can flash bios through it. it might be worth trying other bios too, just to confirm compatibility. once you’re sure a bios programmer works, you could explore more options beyond foxconn. personally, i usually upgrade to better mbs for better performance, like p5q → p5q pro turbo and boosting fsb wall.
