BIOS OC or Ryzen master which is better.
Attempted to overclock Ryzen 5 3600 in Ryzen Master at 4200MHz and 1.3125V. Should I reduce the voltage further? Where should I conduct stress tests to verify stability?
Daily BIOS updates are essential. I typically run Prime95 for CPU stress tests and use Cinebench frequently. Keep an eye on temperatures while doing extended testing, especially with the built-in cooler.
That voltage works, I ran Cinebench R20 several times and Prime95 is not feasible.
It's wise to consult a trusted Ryzen overclocking resource. You might try slightly increasing the voltage while slowly boosting the clock speed to discover your CPU's limits and stability. For instance, my 1600X handles 4GHz smoothly but struggles at 4.1GHz. Once you reach that point, gradually lower the voltage and keep testing until you notice instability. This process can take several days of experimentation, depending on your testing method. My main test is running Prime95 for about 3 to 4 hours; if it runs without crashes or overheating, it's generally safe, though some still find it excessive. Always follow a reliable guide and proceed carefully.
