Bios not preserving RAM speed settings
Bios not preserving RAM speed settings
Refer to the attached picture. Asus x570 e-gaming motherboard. I've tested various RAM sticks; slots appear correct. System boots fine. Updated BIOS, Windows, and drivers are installed. Removed motherboard battery. Used overclock tuner and manual. Frequency changes aren't reflected in hardware monitor. Still can't maintain the speed advertised by RAM. Uncertain what else to try or if the board is faulty.
Because the system was about to become unstable, the BIOS was reset to a non-overclocked speed (2133MHz). I experienced the same issue, so I adjusted the DOCP setting slightly higher—by 1000Mhz—to 2233MHz, then saved and tested. If it improved by another 1000Mhz, I noted the change and its effect. Continue this process until instability returns, identifying your maximum limit before proceeding. My RAM indicates a 3600Mhz capacity, while my CPU supports 3200Mhz, but stability is maintained only up to 3000Mhz. I’m unsure what further steps are needed to safely push it beyond that.
I attempted a solution I hadn't considered. An F5 reset in BIOS resolved the problem. ... A51UK, thanks for the reply.
