I've been trying some overclocking adjustments to boost my older machine's performance. I managed to get a consistent stable setting, but now it keeps switching to another less reliable configuration during startup, appearing unpredictably. I've attempted using the built-in optimized settings, manually adjusting known stable overclocks, and even reset the motherboard by turning it off and unplugging it, yet the issue persists. Anyone have an explanation for this behavior?

Did you store the OC in a profile such as profile #1 with bios enabled for that profile to start? This action would replace any previous bios updates or saves to different profiles.

Do you have any motherboard tools installed? Consider removing AMD Overdrive if necessary. Also, check for additional third-party programs such as MSI Afterburner.

I'm not experiencing AMD overdrive and MSI afterburner is active, but does this issue apply only to the GPU?

I'm not entirely confident about this. It could potentially cause CPU overclocking on certain systems, so I'd investigate further. Alternatively, I can scan through the settings to check if there are any factors influencing the CPU for FX processors. Or I can verify whether it's configured to start automatically at system boot.

OC Genie or similar tools can influence BIOS configurations. This is particularly relevant for board-mounted buttons.

Asus Suite offers Turbo-V which enhances the CPU performance similar to a software upgrade.
