Hello, welcome to the forum! I'm facing a bit of a challenge here. My setup includes an ASUS A520M-Plus motherboard and a Ryzen 5 5500 CPU. I need to update the BIOS to enable compatibility between these components. Right now, I don't see any display for the update process, and the motherboard doesn't support a BIOS Flashback button. Can someone suggest a way to flash the new BIOS without needing a third-generation Ryzen that comes with the board? Thanks ahead!

It seems you're encountering an issue where a compatible CPU is required to update the BIOS.

Are you sure your system meets the requirements? You need a compatible CPU, or you can borrow one from a friend or buy a budget model on eBay. If you’re using an AMD loaner-CPU program, make sure it’s installed properly. Also, check if your GPU is present—your 5500 lacks an iGPU, so it won’t show anything from the video ports.

I considered it carefully. I figured I’d check if there’s an alternative method. There’s a nearby shop that sells computers, so I’ll visit tomorrow to see if they can help. They probably have a compatible CPU from past repairs. I also have a GPU, so that should work. Thanks everyone!
