I’ve tried manually selecting a boot device in the BIOS menu, but none appear. The boot screen just freezes.
Hi. I attempted to refresh the BIOS on my h110 gaming codex 3 ms-b913. From what I understand, I believe I have the original OEM version, but the distinction is unclear, which is why this problem occurred. (I purchased the board separately from a third party six years ago) I downloaded the BIOS from the official site for codex 3: https://www.msi.com/Desktop/Codex-3/support The hardware isn’t in its original case—it’s housed in a custom-built PC. After updating the BIOS in FreeDOS as MSI recommended, it now blocks booting any device. I’ve tried using legacy and UEFI modes, both freezing when I pick a boot source. I attempted a power cycle and plan to remove the CMOS, but nothing changed. I’ve also booted from an SSD and Windows 10 USB. The board dates back to 2017 and has been used almost every day for six years. I’m unsure what the previous owner did. How long do these components typically last? Could it simply be due to age?

It seems like the BIOS menu functions normally. I was updating the BIOS in an attempt to recover my secure boot keys. When I switched from the key management option to Standard, it prompted a question about factory keys. After setting it to Standard, it displayed "vendor keys: not active" and tried to fix it by updating the BIOS, as mentioned on Reddit.
