Ensure all external devices are turned off and remove the power cord from the power supply. Take off the computer's protective cover. Locate the battery compartment on the board; it might sit flat or upright, or be linked to a header wire. Extract the battery: observe the positive and negative marks on its side. Carefully loosen the connector to release it. If linked to a header, sever the connecting wire. Allow a few minutes, then reattach the battery. Replace the cover and restore power to the system.
