I have an Asus Rog Maximus x formula motherboard with a i7-8700k with the most recent bios and drivers and I’ve tried over clocking my cpu in bios multiple times following videos. (I’ve over clocked cpus before so I know the procedures involved with over clocking cpus) I’m trying to over clock to 4.7ghz and it says so on the bios but when I launch to windows it’s still at stock clock speed. I’ve read up on articles all day about people having the same problems with no fixes what so ever. Wondering if anybody has a fix for this here or maybe I’m missing a setting in my bios settings that applies to Asus motherboards. I’ve changed the clock speed the voltage all that good stuff and it refuses to clock past the factory clock speed under load. I payed for a a mother board that can be over clocked yet refuses to do so. Please help.

Check your BIOS settings for turbo power limits. If they’re too low, the CPU may not reach its full speed when loaded. Use a tool like HWiNFO to see why it’s throttling. Look at your CPU core ratios—are they set correctly? Does Asus MultCore Enhancement appear enabled? A CPU-Z report can confirm your setup is correct.

What is your current AI Overclock Tuner preference? [Auto] or [XMP]. Adjust CPU Core Ratio(s), sync all cores, or set per-core multipliers. Enter multiplier directly (e.g., 47). Extreme Tweaker >> CPU Core Ratio. Your CPU state? [Auto]. Why is DRAM voltage at 1.488V instead of 1.50V or 1.35V?

System specifications include high memory voltage support. All cores configured at x50 ratio with v-core set between 1.360 and 1.3750v. Target performance is around 5ghz. Cooling requirements remain under 85°C for optimal operation.
