Hi everyone,
I’m trying to figure out which GPU to purchase. My only game is Euro Truck Simulator 2 in native 4K at high/ultra settings, and maintaining a steady 60 FPS is essential for me. My current setup can no longer sustain that performance, which is why I’m considering an upgrade.
I’ve been dealing with this decision for about two months now. The uncertainty has made me miss out on some attractive offers that come and go quickly, especially since GPU availability is often limited. Now I need to make a choice fast. I’m torn between three options from different price points:
- PowerColor Hellhound AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT 16GB - $620
- Gygabyte RTX 5070 WINDFORCE SFF 12G (non-OC version) - $800
- ASUS TUF Gaming Radeon RX 7900 XT OC Edition 20GB - $900
I’m unsure if the first two will support the game as I need, especially with no benchmarks for the most demanding DLC (Greece Map). The third one can handle it but is outside my budget, though I could stretch further.
Should I go with the RX 7900 XT and spend more, or are the other two sufficient for my needs? This decision feels urgent and a bit stressful. I’m starting to wonder if I should be okay with 4K…

7800 XT isn't priced well and performs noticeably slower compared to the 5070. A price around $800 for a 5070 seems reasonable, as it can be found for about $650 on average. Occasionally, you might spot an RX 9070, which offers better rasterization at 4K and is priced near $800, though slightly superior to the 5070. The cheapest 9070 XT available at $850 would be faster than a 7900XT, making it a strong choice if it's in stock. Based on US pricing, if you're in Canada, $800 for a 5070 aligns well with expectations.
