BfV experiences crashes while attempting to display in full-screen mode.
The BfV application functions correctly in both borderless and windowed display settings; however, it consistently crashes when attempting to activate full-screen mode. System specifications: GTX 1070 mobile, i7 8750H processor, 16GB RAM. The game is installed on a solid-state drive. Voltage adjustments were applied using throttlestop technology. Troubleshooting steps included reinstalling the graphics drivers, the game itself, and Origin; utilizing the intelligent list cleaner; disabling all overlay programs prior to launch; reverting throttlestop settings; testing with DirectX 11 and 12; employing Windows 8 compatibility mode; running as administrator; updating to the most recent driver versions; and turning off fullscreen optimizations.
If I reduce the voltage and enable throttling, will my laptop remain undervolt if I close that specific application?
If it’s still running at full voltage, the problem hasn't been fixed. The problem also began occurring spontaneously. It previously operated smoothly in fullscreen mode but now it has ceased abruptly (I don’t recall installing any updates during this period, so the cause is unclear).
It's unlikely that ending the application will eliminate the reduced voltage setting since this is managed within the system’s BIOS configuration. You should probably initiate a corresponding step inside the software itself to undo it. A potential consequence of undervolting is system instability.
I attempted to play the game without utilizing any under-voltage settings and it continues to crash when running in full-screen mode.
