I really enjoy BF4 and had no problems for a while. Now it’s been acting strange lately, and today it crashed my PC with a BSOD—just when I was doing well. Anyone else experience this? My friend has a GTX 970 and stopped playing BF4 after about half an hour due to crashes. This is my first BSOD. I’m planning to try repairing the game files, but let me know if anyone else has the same issue. By the way, my GPU overclock seems stable in other games and has worked fine for months. I’m using Windows 10.

BF4 prefers playing at normal settings. It's a straightforward visual experience—just stick to the default performance for the best results.

BF4 isn't very demanding visually unless you encounter explosions. These effects put a lot of strain on GPUs, causing power usage to spike significantly. It's similar to Furmark. I own a GTX 970, which is heavily overclocked, and even with some tuning it pulls around 310W. That's a bit high, but it's pushing the limits. Such demanding scenes likely trigger crashes because they exhaust the GPU and stress overclocking.

I haven't had a chance to try bf4 yet. I was playing locker, which is pretty low on graphics. Explosions don't really affect my cards much and the frames per second only drop a bit—around 3 to 5, which is still solid. This is the first time I've experienced this in bf4, and I've been tweaking the overclock for months while playing longer sessions. My friend had crashes but he used a 970, whereas I played FC4 which is much more demanding and had no problems. I don't think that stability issue is the only factor, but I'm hopeful the game files will fix it when I try again soon.

BF4 frequently crashes for me regardless of the situation.
