I've attempted various solutions, from fixing the download and completely erasing data on my HDD—including the registry—to reorganizing files into a cleaner, more organized directory. BF4 began acting strangely after I moved things around. Pressing play didn't yield any results. I assumed the issue stemmed from Origin not being compatible with the new setup. After several attempts to reinstall, I cleaned up my system multiple times, searching for BF4 and Origin-related files. Still nothing improved. I considered the possibility that the registry was blocking Origin's installation. I used Revo Uninstaller to remove PunkBuster and other related plugins, but progress was minimal. I also tried installing BF3 to see if it would resolve the problem. During installation, I encountered errors about existing files and services not being able to create new ones. The process seemed to stall with DirectX, PunkBuster, and the service A disappearing quickly. I noted that the issue might be related to PunkBuster itself. I plan to try installing BF3 next and observe if it helps. I've already followed numerous troubleshooting steps—safe mode, disabling UAC, safe download settings, and more—but nothing resolved the situation. The game previously ran smoothly for over 100 hours. If you have additional details, please share. Thank you for your help!

What antivirus software are you employing? Verify it's not interfering or operating in a sandbox. Additionally, since the game comes from EA—similar to Ubisoft’s quality—you might want to be cautious.

I moved files around on my computer, thinking it would work, but I didn’t realize the origin couldn’t handle such changes. I also tried with Steam, and nothing even altered there.

You transferred the game files using a specific method. (Did you simply copy and paste them or did something else happen?)

I acted right away, but it didn't resolve. I switched the installation folder and re-downloaded, yet nothing changed. Then I returned to the default setting and tried again without changes. As I mentioned, I attempted to download and install BF3, which also failed. It seems the issue might be with punkbuster or another program used by battlefield games. It doesn't appear to be a problem with the original source. Peggle worked fine.
