bf4 and gta v require a certain amount of RAM, but you're already well above the minimum. With 8GB and extra memory from your SSD, you should have plenty of space for gaming. Your setup sounds solid for 1980p at 60Hz.

Only 3 GB of RAM? I used to have 4 GB and then BF4 would lag and my frame rate would drop.

I believe I'm in trouble. I really like the quick mode though; sequential reads and writes are ten times faster. Plus, random access is now twice as fast.

I've noticed GTA V can require up to 11 GB of total system memory, but a 8 GB system should suffice (5 to 6 GB for the game).

I possess 8gb, which is sufficient for 1080p. GTA V requires more memory than BF4. I own both games and never face a RAM shortage. My SSD consumes over 2gb of RAM? Then adjust the profile—3gb won’t be enough to run these titles at higher settings.

BF4 requires roughly 3.5 GB on a high setting at 1080p. GTA 5 can hit 6 GB because of memory problems and minor bugs.

Sure, but the overall memory capacity isn't the main factor. If you have 100GB of RAM and only 99GB is used constantly, then playing GTA V with just 1GB free would be challenging. I expect I'll soon notice if it's sufficient.
