BF1 Premium
BF1 Premium
I’ve been considering getting the premium pass because I want to try new maps. But many say the DLC maps are sparse since premium separates the community, which makes me unsure about supporting it. Still, I’m interested in premium for my own enjoyment and wanted your thoughts on whether the pass is worth it.
I usually manage to locate a DLC map whenever I need it (as long as it's Conquest or DLC Operations). It's also important to note that on official servers, maps are either core or DLC, never mixed—each gets queued separately. This can be frustrating and may negatively affect players who rely on DLC content. You can purchase each DLC separately once it becomes available. Premium might cost a bit less if you buy all DLCs at once, though regional prices vary, so I can't confirm. Still, skipping any could make the experience worse. Considering how long BF1 has taken to release DLC, the last few updates might be too distant for me to play by then.
Meh, I don't think it's really worth it. I've been a long-time BF fan and have played every title thoroughly—so I even bought BF1 Premium before the game even came out. The game has started to feel repetitive, and I don’t play much anymore. The DLCs are spread out too far apart, the content is lacking, and the player base is shrinking. In your case, I’d just buy the DLCs that catch your eye separately—this is what I would have done later.
For me, that ultimately comes down to the guns the DLCs add, since those can never really be "dead" content. And there are some pretty cool weapons in that DLC. As I said though, I can still get games on DLC maps as long as they're running Conquest. I wouldn't say they're dead yet. And the new CTE maps they're adding seem to require the DLC as well. Currently they've added Nivelle Nights, making a total of 5 maps for that DLC, and I think there's another currently in testing that may or may not make it to live.
The only thing I can say about EA's stance is that they're not the only ones, or even the worst, in this situation. That might not be much to go by. Proof: They’re pushing you to pre-order everything you need—ideally all of it. Note: The final price tag mentioned is $799.99, just in case anyone was hoping for the most absurdly cheap option available.
They're not the only ones; I recall them being among the very first.
And me, the fool, always gets caught up in it every time. I don’t really feel guilty because I’m pretty sure I’d buy all the stuff anyway... I’m just a mess for battlefield. At least I didn’t pay extra for Hardline, but I definitely played that game more than I admit.
BF4 Premium offered value, but BF1 felt too dull right away, so I didn’t consider the upgrade.
