Hello everyone, I’m feeling quite uncertain about switching between two different laptops. I’m mainly a PC gamer who used to play more intensely, but now I don’t wait for the latest game updates. My usual games are Oxygen (not included), Hellblade, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Mount and Blade, Medieval Dynasty...

Here’s what I have to decide:
I have two options:
- A 12700h, RTX 3060 (laptop), 16 GB DDR5, 1 TB SSD for $12700 more – Amazon.ca
- A 12650h, RTX 4060 (laptop), 16 GB DDR4, 516 MB SSD – https://www.newegg.ca/p/N82E16834156488

I also recently got the Tuff that just entered the scene:
ASUS TUF Gaming A15 (2023) Gaming Laptop, 15.6” FHD 144Hz, 100% sRGB Display, GeForce RTX 4050, AMD Ryzen 9 7940HS, 16 GB DDR5, 512 GB PCIe SSD, Wi-Fi 6, Windows 11, FA507XU-AS91-CA
https://a.co/d/04ziJmN

I also have a GTX 1660 Ti on my laptop:
Ryzen 7 4800H, SSD 516, 16 GB DDR4

Thanks for your advice, guys!

Right away, I’d avoid using laptops unless you’re absolutely sure you’ll need them everywhere. I’ve seen many folks buy gaming laptops once and never bring them anywhere. In those instances, a traditional desktop would have offered better value. Looking at the situation now, the MSI laptop with the 4060 Mobile stands out as the top choice. While other models boast stronger CPUs, the graphics card is the key factor here. The extra processing power from those others will be overshadowed by the MSI’s GPU. Plus, it’s more affordable than both alternatives. The Acer Predator offers a bigger SSD, but you can always expand storage later—so that’s not a big issue for me. The higher refresh rate isn’t a big deal either, since I can assure you most people won’t notice the difference between 165Hz and 144Hz. If I were making the decision, I’d go with the MSI option.
