So, i have a ryzen 2600 and a friend has got 2 unused coolers for am4 sockets but I do not know which is better - cooler master hyper 212 Evo or the Arctic freezer 33. There are no alternatives because he will gift me the one I choose

I believe the differences are minimal, as both include direct contact copper heat pipes, aluminum fins, and a 120mm fan. I’m not sure there’s much distinction in cooling performance. Arctic 33 could be a better fit since it’s shorter.

Doctor Rob is uncertain but the link indicates the 212 performs better. Were there other reviews confirming ThinkComputers' findings? Avoid making a choice based solely on one review.

Doctor Rob :
Not entirely certain, but the review at https://www.thinkcomputers.org/arctic-fr...r-review/4 suggests the 212 is superior.
Did you come across any other opinions that align with ThinkComputers' findings? Avoid making a choice based solely on one review.
Apologies, I also wanted to include another one—this one indicated both were within about 1C of each other, so I’d go with whichever looked better to you.

Freezer 33 offers improved fan performance and simpler installation. The 212 evo supports two distinct AM4 connections; the previous model, now out of production, only allows horizontal placement with the fan adjacent to the GPU.

I own the Arctic Freezer i32 and my 95 TDP CPU stays very cool. They are simple to set up and extremely quiet. I really enjoy these coolers.
The 120 mm fan only activates at higher loads (starting at 40% PWM), making it power efficient and very silent.
On the other hand, installing those hyper 212 coolers is challenging for me—they’re taller than Arctic models. I had a bad experience before, so I won’t be purchasing again.
