I bought a R9 280X roughly three months ago and began modifying Skyrim. About an hour ago I realized I could use Mantle. Have anyone heard any updates about this? (I know Nvidia users can’t use it, but I have a laptop with an NVidia card. I’m just seeking new ways to improve performance on my own.)

Mantle is exclusive to Skyrim. It's a game-specific feature (developers must add it during development or update it later). More info: http://www.amd.com/en-us/innovations/sof...ntle#games

I understand... Updates on adding Mantle to Skyrim are available. DirectX titles can be ported to Mantle, and upcoming games may include support for it.

You'd need to consult them personally.

They likely paused work on Skyrim around two years ago to focus on their upcoming title (likely Fallout 4). Bethesda’s titles often struggle with CPU performance and don’t handle crossfire/SLI efficiently, which means their games aren’t optimized well. I wouldn’t expect mantle support in their next release.
