Hi, According to a recent gaming interview news, it appears that Bethesda has indeed confirmed that FALLOUT 5 will be its next game after 'The Elder Scrolls 6', and STARFIELD. In an interview with IGN , Bethesda's Todd Howard confirmed that 'The Elder Scroll 6' is now in pre-production and that they will be working on Fallout 5 "after that". The good news for Fallout fans is that Fallout 5 is coming, but the bad news is that gamers will have to wait a while. Check my previous topic in case you overlooked it. Bethesda Game Studio's next big title is Starfield , and it is due to release next year on PC and Xbox Series X/S. Following that launch, 'The Elder Scrolls 6' will be the studio's next big game, and after that will come 'Fallout 5'. 'The Elder Scrolls 6' may have been teased back in 2018, but the game still remains in pre-production. 'The Elder Scrolls 6's' teaser was intended to confirm to fans that Bethesda was not abandoning the single player RPG genre after Fallout 76. That said, The Elders Scroll fans expected more than a "pre-production" after a four year long wait. It will be a long time before we see Fallout 5, though it is comforting to see that Bethesda has long term plans for its major franchises. Perhaps 'The Elder Scrolls 6' and 'Fallout 5' will come sooner thanks to Starfield's engine changes, and the fact that neither of these games have space combat or over 1,000 planets to explore. Speaking to IGN, Todd Howard confirms, "Yes, Elder Scrolls 6 is in pre-production and, you know, we’re going to be doing Fallout 5 after that, so our slate’s pretty full going forward for a while. We have some other projects that we look at from time to time as well." Howard has told IGN previously that the studio has an idea for Fallout 5 in place, saying, "Fallout's really part of our DNA here. We've worked with other [developers] from time to time – I can't say say what's gonna happen. You know, we have a one-pager on Fallout 5, what we want to do." Thanks for telling me that FO5 is coming after both Starfield and TES6, because you started off saying it's coming after TES6. I was about to make a change, but thanks to your input I can skip that part. That said, it could be because Starfield is such a huge project that TES6 is still in the preproduction phase. Bethesda has like 420 developers, and that might seem like a lot, but it's really not when you have a big project with two others that also have very large game maps. There are also lots of AI scripting work on these types of games, which means tons of dialog choices and different possible endings. Then there is tons of testing to do, not just for terrain, but also for the AI. So don't be surprised if Todd Howard has grey hairs when FO5 comes out. 😀

Yeah, thanks for fixing it up. I just updated the post so nobody gets mixed up. lol, that's bound to happen soon. FO5 is still way off from what we expect right now.

I haven't even finished playing SKYRIM or OBLIVION RPGs yet, but there are so many Bethesda games that will keep me busy for years. I hope to finish these Elder Scrolls titles by the time Starfield drops out of beta. I've never played Morrowind though. Speaking about Starfield, I just saw this GamesRadar article. All the rumors and leaks have been put together pretty well here. It's a good read if you want to know everything before it happens. If anyone is interested, check this link out: Starfield: Everything you need to know about Bethesda's space odyssey https://www.gamesradar.com/starfield-rel...-gen-news/

Do any ideas how much lootbox/micro DLC/pay-to-win rot will spread to these next games from Bethesda? My biggest fear is that the base TES 6 won't be as deep, broad, full of characters, stories, quests, and fun little quirks like before. You'll only get those parts if you pay an extra $100+ for them just because it's in your best interest.

No, I don't really know if these new Bethesda games will have hidden money tricks like loot boxes or microtransactions. It's too soon to say for sure, but my guess is yes, they'll probably be full of them. After Skyrim came out, Bethesda needs to prove how good they are at making fantasy RPGs, and fans are waiting excitedly for the next Elder Scrolls game. But honestly, that crowd should calm down a bit because Bethesda has been doing microtransactions in their other games lately. If The Elder Scrolls 6 ends up with microtransactions like their others have, it would upset the biggest fans there. That's not to say the game will be bad, but Bethesda is very busy right now running games like The Elder Scrolls Online and Fallout 76 while also selling mobile money services. These games all have one thing in common: they sell stuff inside them. So it makes hard to believe that microtransactions are on their mind for a new big franchise. Maybe even releasing the game without those purchases would need a huge miracle, or maybe using the Creation Club instead of the usual stores. This club is already sure to come back just because making money works well for them. But don't lose all hope yet! Some games like Fallout 76 and The Elder Scrolls Online work differently than normal RPGs. Maybe The Elder Scrolls 6 will be a single-player story without much microtransaction stuff, which would help avoid the usual problems seen in mobile or multiplayer games. Even though some solo games have these tricks, it might just slow Bethesda down from putting them in. After all, nothing has been officially announced yet. But looking at their last few games, it's worrying that a big single-player story could be ruined by bad business practices like microtransactions. That would be sad for fans too. If The Elder Scrolls 6 launches with these tricks, players who hate them might just stop buying the game anyway. That leads to no one winning. But I'll leave that aside now.

I would only agree if they let buyers skip buying the base game entirely. No forced updates that stop fans from making mods just to make a paid feature. Bethesda ruins modding every time they push an update for Creation Club and we know it... so now I am getting off-topic

Shame is best Fallout was New Vegas and not made by Bethesda. Starfield is Fallout in space. Fallout is Skyrim with guns. Where is skyrim in space? Hopefully Todd will go away and Microsoft might find some talent left once they slam Blizzard/Acivision together with Bethesda... a monstrosity if ever I seen one. Might be someone left who knows how to make games... so many marketers cry out in pain. I would buy EA as well and then when you own trifecta of evil, close them all. No loss.

There are some web rumors saying that Bethesda's new vampire co-op shooter REDFALL is causing more delays for The Elder Scrolls 6 and Fallout 5. REDFALL's first release date has been pushed from the first quarter of 2023 to the third quarter of 2023 next year. 😟 So, only after Starfield and Redfall are finally out, we might at least expect to see The Elder Scrolls 6 and Fallout 5. Even though ARKANE Studios are making REDFALL, there are rumors about a delay by Bethesda which could affect other games too. But I hope the dates aren't pushed forever, and these rumors are false.
