I explored possible options to fix the connectivity problems caused by the new router. Since there’s no Ethernet connection in your home, moving the router outside your room helped, and your brother’s setup worked too. You have a spare PC card with a PCIe, PCIe single, and M.2 slot. I’m trying to figure out if the m.2 supports a 2230 Wi-Fi/BT module and whether Intel can work with it.

I've relied solely on Asus NICs in my everyday drivers for the last four years with no issues. If you need WiFi on your PC, consider a NIC featuring a satellite antenna so you can adjust its position for better signal strength. Good options include the Asus PCE-AX58BT and the TP-Link TX3000E. For rooms with coaxial connections, MoCA adapters are worth exploring instead.
