Use apps that support SMS from your iPhone to your PC. Many messaging services offer web interfaces or compatible software you can install.

I'm not sure, but I believe you can send SMS messages using Skype.

using a pc to send sms via text is not feasible as it requires a phone number and relies on mobile components rather than web-based sending. but with an iphone, you can message other iPhones when both have internet access, and this works on mac as well through apple’s standard messaging service.

I use Pushbullet on my Android phone. I’m also familiar with its iPhone version, though I’m not entirely sure it behaves exactly the same. For me, notifications appear in the bottom-right corner of my screen whenever my phone sends a message, and I can reply instantly. If you need to view the complete chat, unfortunately it isn’t possible—you’ll have to open your phone instead. Pushbullet functions correctly only when both your PC and iPhone are connected to the same network.
