Sorry if I come across as confused, but I was just curious. What temperature should I set for my i5 6600k? I managed to overclock it to 4.5GHz without adjusting the voltage, and the maximum temperatures I've observed on any core were around 80°C. Is that considered acceptable? All the discussions I've seen have been mixed. Thanks!

From this article it seems that temperatures between 69-74°C are acceptable under heavy stress conditions, but not ideal for gaming. Observations from various sources suggest a maximum of around 55°C during gaming and up to 79°C during intense stress tests. I personally reached 74°C on one core while gaming, though it rarely exceeds 69°C in other games. Additionally, the CPU fan operates at 900rpm, which is roughly half of its full speed.
