Best RGB RAM?
Best RGB RAM?
Hello! I'm curious about the most visually appealing RGB RAM options available. While Corsair is well-known, brands like HyperX and G-Skill also offer attractive designs. It really depends on personal taste, but many find these models stand out in appearance. What do you think?
It's a bit personal, so feel free to pick your favorites. For me, G.Skill is the top choice, followed by Thermaltake, then HyperX, and finally Corsair—even if I don’t really like RGB lights.
Corsair isn't snycable since it runs its own operating system (iCue) along with HyperX, though it offers partial synchronization. For optimal performance when connecting to other devices, the top RAM choice would be G.Skill Trident Z or the non-syncable Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro, which works best with specialized software rather than your standard MB RGB OS.
It’s about avoiding slowing down other parts. We’re aware that without RGB, your whole setup would hit a bottleneck at the hardware level since RAM wouldn’t align well with the CPU or motherboard speed. Your decision to choose RGB is correct—add more RGB elements to keep things dynamic and ensure your CPU runs smoothly.
Software support varies widely. Many RAM modules work well with most RGB programs, but some users encounter issues with Corsair's Vengeance RGB Pro—only supporting iCUE, not Aura (ASUS' tool). My own Vengeance RGB non-pro handled AURA without problems.
I have a slight preference for certain G.skill Trident kits, especially those available in Samsung B-Die models. If you spot one at a reasonable price, it could be a good deal. The Corsairs seem overly large and unhealthy-looking to me, while HyperX appears quite plain. If this holds true, it’s worth mentioning that iCue is a significant bloatware that negatively impacts game performance. It’s definitely a turn-off if you can’t install it with most motherboard drivers or BIOS support.
