The most affordable option is to use a basic NAS with at least 10 Mbps bandwidth for both read and write operations.

10Mbit at 1.25MB/s? Most modern machines would handle it better. The cheapest choice is repurposing an old computer you don’t need. Use a free operating system. Benefits: No extra cost. Drawbacks: The hardware isn’t great, might be unstable, and speed could be poor.

I lack a spare unused machine, and the Kijiji site is outdated enough that it won’t run anything practical without significant investment.

You'll require minimal space. A budget option could be a Raspberry Pi or comparable single-board computer running on an SD card or eMMC. The main advantage lies in its low power consumption.

Consider a Raspberry Pi 4 paired with an external hard drive and a Samba share. The Raspberry Pi 4 is ideal due to its USB 3.0 and gigabit Ethernet support

I understand if you're not discussing many TBs that use a Pi 4, an SSD, a 2, or a Rust spin.
