Another choice is Rocky Linux if you don’t prefer Ubuntu-based systems. This one runs on Red Hat.

A CentOS version isn't the easiest choice for everyday use. I'd suggest going with Arch-based distributions instead (I love Artix Linux, and plain Arch works just fine).

Rocky runs on a different platform than CentOS and isn't more complex than standard Linux. The only reason I’d consider it is Arch Linux, since they offer a visual setup that lets you pick the programs and desktop you want before installing them.
