What scenarios should guide your choice? Understanding your needs, expertise, available time, and hardware matters a lot. Share more details and I’ll tailor the best recommendation for you.

I play games on my main rig to ensure it runs smoothly on Windows. I’m most comfortable using Ubuntu, but I usually stick to it unless I require something special like TrueNAS for a NAS setup.

Getting comfortable isn't the only goal. If you're serious about Linux, explore the open-source scene—Canonical has its own challenges, so check out Mint for a smoother experience!

People have different views on the top Linux operating system. Many prefer Mint because of its ease of use and lightweight design.

I believe you're referring to a clear and direct answer, because "best" can vary a lot. It sounds like the question is trying to provoke a reaction.

I've attempted to transition to Linux on my primary machine multiple times, but each experience was frustrating and ultimately unsuccessful. Switching it would be too much effort, so I won't do it. I still try different distributions on my other systems occasionally.

Refers to the tests rather than your primary setup.
