This should handle most games smoothly at low settings with a decent graphics card, delivering smooth frames. I used a GTX 9400 and achieved around 120fps. Things look promising, though a fix is always hoped for.

If it’s cooled correctly, it might regain function again. Otherwise, it could be permanently damaged.

It's tough to gauge the temperatures without checking them first. Usually, most devices shut off when things get too hot, so it should be safe as long as your heatsink is properly installed and you run the fan to keep things cool. After it settles back to normal, do a short stress test to confirm stability in both performance and temperature.

Why not just play the game? I haven’t found any titles without adjustable settings. I’m using Far Cry 3 on an i7 4771 with Intel HD 4600 graphics, and it performs well at 720p low/medium. It runs smoothly (around 30 fps) and looks fine.
