For the HP Pavilion P6654Y with an 8GB RAM setup and a Foxconn 2AB1 motherboard, you’ll want a CPU that supports at least 12 cores and a GPU capable of handling gaming or multitasking. The best options are Intel Core i5-13400 or i7-13700 series, paired with an RTX 3060 or better GPU. Make sure the system meets the minimum requirements for stability and performance.

Checked the support list and it seems the 1065T is the top choice. If you find a cheaper 1055T, it might be more cost-effective. Upgrading from a 6-core Phenom CPU won’t offer much performance boost. The best GPU will depend on your power supply quality. Avoid overloading with a 3090; a used RX 470 or 570 works well with older CPUs.

They could handle it with a 200-watt PSU. Performance might improve and CPU usage could drop. Right now you're seeing around 60-90% usage, which is pretty high.

Which processor are you running right now? The 200-watt rating indicates limited upgrade options. It looks like this is the typical cost range for these chips.

I own a 300 watt power supply from an old machine, but I'm not sure how to swap it out.

Are you enhancing for gaming or simply improving your general setup? This board features typical ATX ports, meaning it works with any regular power adapter.

I aim for smooth gameplay at 80+ FPS on this setup. Since it's a secondary machine, I won’t need major hardware changes. Performance should noticeably improve with the right upgrades.

I don’t have details about your processor or graphics card, so I can’t determine how much improvement you might experience.
