The greater the detail, the less important a quicker processor becomes. At 4K, most recent 6C/12T or better chips perform similarly.

For operations leveraging full hyperthreading performance, yes it helps—but this isn’t relevant for gaming. You should still use the soldered IHS. Higher resolution puts more strain on the GPU while having almost no impact on the CPU, so weaker CPUs can work just fine since the GPU limits frame rates.

Basically, or around 3700 if you're going for the more advanced version, it's way overpriced compared to the performance you'd get at 3600.

Be aware that 4.4 is rarely reached for light single-threaded tasks; otherwise, the all-core boost won't differ much once the limits are adjusted or the chip is manually clocked.
