Hello, your computer is coming back from the shop for maintenance and setup. I noticed the motherboard lights up but doesn’t boot, which is puzzling. I attempted troubleshooting by removing RAM and checking components, but when I opened the case and tried to take out the processor, it was very difficult. After successfully removing the chipset, I found a small crack bent on the corners of the PCB, suggesting an installation issue from the technician. Can we still resolve this problem? Please see the attached photos for reference.

This situation is quite disappointing. It seems the repair would be too expensive, and it's puzzling why the store didn't have the device operational prior to your arrival.

Goodbye. Unless that crack caused any issues, then goodbye.

Typically done for. You might attempt the CPU on another X99 machine that's known to function, though I'm skeptical it will succeed again.

The Intel sockets require strong pressure for proper connection, meaning even with intact traces, any bending on the PCB can lead to issues. (Note: 6800k isn't Broadwell-E, it's Skylake.)

Funny story but i've done that before. Might as well give it a shot in known working party and see what happens.

I was really excited and in a rush to get my computer set up at home. I wished I could have asked them to test it first before I left and went back, but this place isn't really a licensed repair or retail shop—it's more like a "friend and a computer geek guy's shop" kind of place, rofl. So I just let him handle everything because he loves computers and stuff, which frustrated me, but his "apprentice tech repair service guy" did all the work for me. Big luck on my side!

It seems the store might have lost a customer.
