Hello everyone, as the subject indicates, I’m seeking some advice on setting up my router as an access point. I’m comfortable with networking but not new to computers—my setup includes a phone hotspot for all my devices, like my phone, laptop, TV, and girlfriend’s laptop. The issue is that when I turn on the TV, it often needs me to manually connect to it for internet access. I’m considering adding a modem, router, or access point near the TV so it uses the Ethernet cable instead of Wi-Fi. My main questions are: what type of device should I use? Can I get internet data from Wi-Fi without relying on an Ethernet connection? What bridge configurations should I look into? I found a Pirelli DRG A125G router with many bridging options, but I’m not sure which one fits best. Could you help explain or suggest something simpler? Thanks in advance for your support.

@Vilas Take a look at this travel router—it's a highly adaptable gadget with more uses than your situation requires. My plan would be to connect your phone through USB and share the WiFi using the travel router. It can also link to a current WiFi network, though I'm not certain it can rebroadcast via WiFi; it should work fine over Ethernet.

It seems like you're questioning the need for USB tethering since mobile hotspots don't work with WiFi extenders or WDS. In short, a WiFi hotspot isn't the same as a full WiFi access point—it's a simplified version meant to save power.
