Hey there. I’m just starting out and have a few questions. Should I go with the Steam Deck for now or keep saving for the AvaNeo Next? Money’s tight, but it’s about timing. I love playing big budget titles and exploring new games. Right now I’m on Xbox One and plan to switch to FIFA, NHL, COD, PUBG (mobile and console), Total War, GTA5, TR, Doom, and eventually want to go back to PC after a decade of console gaming. I don’t own a PC or laptop outside work, but I’m curious if a handheld can also act as a desktop setup with keyboard, mouse, controller, etc. It sounds possible. Since I’ve been away, I don’t want to rush into anything. What do you think about the SD and ANext? Is it still being developed? If so, saving for ANext might be a gradual process, and when it’s ready we could invest more. Cheers!

The Steam Deck isn't a direct substitute for a desktop setup. It operates on Steam OS, a Linux-based distribution, which limits compatibility with many games unless you add Windows support. Even then, performance may suffer. For high-end gaming, it probably won't match a full PC or console, though it could work for some titles. In my view, neither offers the power of a dedicated gaming system.

It features a very basic processor, struggles to run many games smoothly above 30 frames per second, and isn’t meant to replace a full PC. *However* it can reach 60fps at the lowest settings with 800p resolution, though the claim remains unchanged—this gives a disappointing feel, and I’d doubt its reliability.
