Hey! I just got a new Windows install on an NVMe drive with 1.6 TB of unallocated space, but the volume won’t extend because it’s grayed out. Anyone have a solution? Thanks!

In the Boot section of your BIOS, change CSM to "Disabled." Make Boot Devices Control set to "UEFI only." Once done, reinstall Windows. This is because you're dealing with an MBR-formatted drive made from non-UEFI installation media.

You're referring to the system settings where you can switch between Windows UEFI mode or another operating system.

In Boot > CSM (Compatibility Support Module), change "Launch CSM" to "Disabled". In Boot > Secure Boot, adjust "OS Type" to "Windows UEFI Mode".

It looks like most MBR drives are limited to a maximum partition size of 2TB. Are you wondering if your specific drive uses this format?
