My pc specs are
ASUS GeForce RTX™ 2070 SUPER EVO OC
Intel Core i7-9700K 8-Core 3.6 GHz
NZXT E650 Gold Digital PSU
G.SKILL TridentZ RGB 3200MHz 8GB x2
Intel 660p 2TB
Whenever I play any games I lag. I was playing among us with my friends and I couldn’t watch YouTube on my second monitor without lagging. It isn’t my internet speeds, as I’ve tested it and it’s fine. It lags my whole PC. I reset my PC back to the preinstalled Windows and it still hasn’t improved. I updated all of my drivers, including reinstalling them. Still no improvement. I don’t think on Overwatch I should be getting 40fps while on the lowest settings. I’ve dusted my computer and checked all the connections. The temperatures are fine, they stay around 60-70°C. I do play games at 1440p, but I hadn’t had any issues until recently. I haven’t done anything different recently. I really don’t know what could be causing this.

The CPU and GPU temperatures are being tracked, and it's unclear if the monitor is solely connected to the GPU.

Right on my desktop, with no games active, my GPU usage is between 1-2% and CPU consumption is around 4-8%. On Overwatch, my VRAM is at 1300MB, CPU temperature is about 60°C. I maintain around 60-70fps with medium settings but often lose frames. During gameplay, GPU usage rises to 40-60% while CPU stays under 40%. RAM usage is approximately 50% of the 16GB capacity. I’m hoping this information proves helpful. Both monitors are directly connected to the GPU.

Check for problems if you skip the second monitor, meaning disconnect it completely. Are both displays operating with identical refresh rates?

According to Try hang-the-9, consider removing the second monitor during troubleshooting. Turn off all overlays.

Didn't alter the matter. I continue to receive many frames. My primary display runs at 1440p with 165hz, while the secondary model operates at 1080p and 144hz. I haven't encountered any issues before. I've used both for a few months, but this problem only emerged about a week ago.

This would be a helpful addition to the original message. Have you verified your CPU and GPU usage during the incident? Were you certain no additional programs were installed after completing a clean Windows installation before retesting? Did you download and install the motherboard and video card drivers directly from the manufacturer's support pages, or did you use a third-party driver utility?

I mentioned in my original comment that it began recently. I verified the usage while dropping frames, but nothing changed—no spikes or drops. It remained almost unchanged. There were no other programs I'm aware of. I installed the update using GeForce Experience for my graphics card. I haven't updated my motherboard recently. I'll try again when I get home to check if it resolves the issue.
