Check if Windows alone provides sufficient cleanup; consider alternatives like CCcleaner if you want extra features.
CCleaner is awesome. I feel like I have more control over it than disk cleanup. You don't need to though.
I owned a laptop that was originally a Win98 system. It got upgraded to XP, and I started using it until my first gaming PC in 2009. At the end of that time, rebooting became really slow—about half an hour for Windows to shut down and restart. I recorded the time accurately. When I tried using CCleaner and a reg cleaner, it actually helped improve performance on what felt like a sluggish machine. I applied those settings to my old laptop, and it booted up in around 6 to 8 minutes, reaching its "unable state" before. Don’t be fooled—those cleanup options worked for me over six years without any problems.
