I checked my router settings and switched it to 5 GHz. I looked up some information online and found instructions on changing the channel. I followed those steps and tried it, hoping it would boost performance. However, after doing this, the internet connection disappeared. Now when I type "192" into Google, it doesn't work anymore, so I can't restore the 2.4 GHz setting. That’s frustrating!

Connect your PC straight to the modem using an Ethernet cable. Also, keep the distance between your device and the router close if you're using Wi-Fi, since 5GHz signals struggle with walls and weak coverage.

Yes. 5GHz offers higher speeds, though it covers a smaller area.

Your space is on the perimeter of the house, with the router positioned in the center.

Avoid a full factory reset and start over. @Iamnotgod

Did you want to replay the original post? If so, that won't help. I'm about 50 feet away, my home is built with concrete blocks, I'm in Florida, and my house is rated Category 5+—no problem for me. 720p is well within what my phone can handle, thanks!

The router's web interface should display its default gateway IP address. To identify this, run a command prompt session and execute ipconfg /all. Identify the adapter linked to the router and check for a "Default gateway" listing.
