I recently got a new and improved motherboard and am considering an upgrade. I’m wondering if there could be any issues that might permanently damage my PC, or if it would just cause minor problems that are easy to fix—like entering the Windows activation code. A few details help: I’m using an activated Windows 10 Pro license, want to stay with my existing drives, and the CPU might be upgraded soon. Any advice would be appreciated.
Change the disk and avoid reinstalling Windows might cause it to start or fail. If your license is linked to your Microsoft account, it should automatically reactivate.
