Battlefield 4 – the most terrible game I’ve ever experienced.
Battlefield 4 – the most terrible game I’ve ever experienced.
I favor version 3 over 4 simply because my setup doesn’t achieve a solid frame rate.
It's how I always feel when I play BF4 in normal mode. I only switch to hardcore now since I've gotten bored of getting shot when I empty a whole clip.
I used to have a different perspective. After I stopped playing BF4 casually, I only played with friends and the global-conflict.org site. It shows me that unless a game is meant for solo play, I can't enjoy it alone because MP versions often have problems. When you interact with real people you know, other distractions fade away and you just focus on shooting your friends in the game and joking about the bugs.
I have more than 150 PC games available. Of course there are the typical free-to-play titles like CounterStrike Online and FEAR Online, but nothing rivals the high budget of Battlefield while still being so disappointing. There are individuals who could have created ten games with half the budget, and each would be at least 100 times better than Battlefield 4. I don’t even know how they managed to fall short compared to Call of Duty Advanced Warfare with Battlefield Hardline. Honestly, EA and DICE seem completely ineffective.
You should have waited for the new netcode update. It introduces a tick rate based on FPS, ranging from 30Hz to 144Hz. However, the map design is quite poor.
I got BF3 mainly because of the buzz and it was my first AAA title I could run on my new PC. It started fine but soon more issues popped up, yet I gave it a shot. All the server drops happened often, and time just slipped away... Still, I went ahead with PREMIUM. The game kept delivering content, though it was costly, but the core material was decent. By the end, things stabilized enough to play reasonably, netcode was decent, and there weren’t too many overpowered weapons. Eventually, I chose to wait for BF4’s release... It turned out to be a huge letdown. I believed the developers had learned from BF3, but when it came, I decided to skip it until fixes arrived. I tried monthly restarts to see if it improved, but after eight months I gave up. It still felt rough. I haven’t purchased BF4 Premium, and I’m not pushing it hard. The Battlefield series isn’t for me anymore until something better emerges.
Edit: I forgot to mention I tried CS:GO after that, and the movement in BF4 felt like having bricks stuck to every part of your body. I became much more precise at aiming, and I started craving higher tick rates—over 64 ticks. Even at that pace, CS:GO still feels way more refined than BF4 offers.
