Battlefield 2042 has such low quality, only BF2042 stands out. Other titles appear sharp.

The game quality dropped after updating my BIOS to 14e on my B550, but I don’t want to revert to an older version. The issue isn’t visible in screenshots since the display improves instantly with Shift+Win+S. I’m running at low settings and the recommended specs work well, eliminating grain. In other apps, the text appears cleaner, especially after updating F10.
I would look into HDR, maybe game thinks HDR is enabled. If you have HDMI output , I would check if the video card outputs Full RGB / Full YCbCR (0...255 for each) or Limited/ Studio RGB/ YCbCr ( where they use 16..235 for chrominance) .. if there's a mismatch between what monitor expects and what video card outputs you can get washed out colors. But if you alt tab or take picture and colors change without monitor switching resolutions it's not this, it's the game.
It's true, but I can't turn it off since it's hidden and fixed in the settings for the year 2042.
In this discussion on Reddit, someone mentions they made changes to hide the profile. Another suggested checking for HighDynamicRange settings. The first person tried enabling HDR in Windows, adjusted it in-game, and then switched HDR off after returning to Windows.
Have you verified your Nvidia control panel? You can adjust the film grain settings in the menu if needed.
I would perform a complete DDU uninstall/reinstall in Safe Mode while using WITHOUTH NETWORKING. Why? Because Windows tends to be unfriendly with Windows Update, often providing outdated drivers. Make sure you download the newest drivers beforehand so you can install safely. (In Shift Click Start -> Troubleshoot -> Startup Options -> Safe Mode should be the steps. The number you enter at the final step varies depending on your method. This is my preferred approach.) Proceed with uninstalling via DDU, then restart. However, ensure you restart in Safe Mode No Networking using the same process. Open the game. If the issue continues, try forcing 10bit color in the Nvidia Control Panel and see if it clears the problem and lets you disable it. It’s an unusual workaround but could help. Just for fun, I tested an ASUS TUF monitor and ended up back where I started. Once I enabled 10Bit.Windows, it appeared as a HDR display—worth checking. I've tried that as well, using the special uninstall tool. Still nothing happened. So I'm choosing to keep playing with it instead.
