Hi Peps, you're thinking about playing BF2042 a lot. Let's see how your setup would perform in theory and why your CPU usage might spike to 80-90% even when just the game is running. Your specs are solid: an Intel i7 8700, GTX 2070, 16GB RAM, ASUS TUF B360 PRO, and Windows OS. It should handle the game well, but keep in mind that high frame rates or intense graphics can push your CPU to those levels. If you want smoother performance, consider optimizing settings or upgrading components if needed.

The system should handle it smoothly. It might be related to software. Are there any programs active in the background?

This was the initial check, but it turned out to be genuine—it was just the beta version in progress.

I spent several hours last night and my overall frame rate sits between 60 and 85 FPS. I'm running at 5120x1440p, which is close to 4K resolution, with over a million pixels under the surface. I've pushed all graphics settings to their maximum, using Ultra mode. My specs are listed in my profile. My friend who owns the ROG STRIX 3080 and the 8700K also plays at 3440x1440p and we match in performance and FPS. It seems the current beta version isn't optimized for CPU usage. Maybe it's because DLSS isn't included yet. I'm curious about how things would change if DLSS was available.

We need to know your preferred resolution. Are you okay with reduced settings for higher frame rates, or do you prioritize quality? Is 60fps sufficient, or do you aim for 100+ for better performance? Does 1080p not meet your expectations, or is that fine? This data is crucial; without it, the only response would be a simple yes, but it doesn’t really assist. I think you likely already know this.
