It looks like I've lost a bit of familiarity with Windows 8.1, especially the way to automatically sign in when I power on. I tried looking it up but couldn't find time for it now. That's not the priority at the moment.

For launching, open netplwiz and deselect the requirement for a username and password. Restart the computer. To restart upon waking, use the sign-in options menu and select none.

If you opt for the Microsoft account login, updating your password requires returning to this page and modifying it.
