Hi, your setup looks good. For the LAN connection to appear on your MacBook Pro, ensure the static IP is correctly assigned and the DHCP settings are not conflicting. Try resetting the router’s DHCP server or changing the static IP temporarily to see if that resolves the issue. Also, verify that the MAC address filtering on your router matches the MAC of your adapter. Let me know if you need further guidance!

You're assigning a static IP address to the Mac? You'll require an available host IP within the broadcast range (commonly .1 and .255 are omitted). A subnet mask matching the router's should be used, keeping it identical. The router's default gateway is necessary. For DNS configuration, you can use ISP-provided servers, private network settings, or opt for public DNS like 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 if they perform better. Finally, remove the host IP from the DHCP pool to avoid duplicate addresses on the network.

Your router is set up with a static IP from your ISP in the 172.xx.xx.x range, and it's using DHCP for local addresses like 192.168.0.xxx. You're experiencing internet issues when connecting via LAN cable to your MacBook, despite working on Wi-Fi. The Archer C50 model might have specific settings or compatibility considerations—check the router manual or contact support for further help.

Have you checked a different connected device? If it functions, the issue might be with the adapter or the MacBook.

It seems like you're asking about a problem you encountered, but it's unclear what specific issue you're facing. Could you provide more details?

I’m questioning whether the adapter is officially Apple-branded or from a third-party manufacturer. Have you tried it before, or is this your first attempt with it?

Did you ever configure a fixed IP address for your Mac? (Since you don’t use Mac OS, I’m not sure how to verify or modify it.)

Do you have any gadgets featuring an Ethernet port that matches the one the adapter uses? Try connecting the cable to those devices, then check functionality. If it doesn’t work, the adapter might be faulty. You could also switch to another adapter and compare results. A mismatch usually indicates a driver issue. Generally, Mac systems handle drivers smoothly without much setup. Always refer to the adapter’s manual for required drivers. Ethernet ports sometimes require drivers on Windows before a connection appears.

I inquired about the static IP. It seems he brought it up without importance. He was talking about the WAN port on the router.
