Hey everyone, I’m the tech guy here. My mom just got an iPhone Air from her old 12-year-old phone. When we set everything up, we followed the instructions, but now I’m wondering how to clear the tutorial and suggestion setup for her. She’s 70, but she’s smart—those beginner guides are really helpful. I’ve already shown her how to use the tips app, and I know there’s a reset option in the device settings. Since we haven’t transferred any data yet, it should work fine. I just want her to be able to try it on the plane without all the extra steps. Hope everyone had a great Halloween! Thanks!

You're not able to. There isn't a tutorial in the traditional sense; it's about adjusting a few options you've already set. The initial setup doesn't provide any new information.

Considering this, smartphone guides and tutorials often complicate the experience instead of helping users. Interacting with devices feels more natural, and hands-on practice leads to better understanding than following written steps.

Give her a chance to experiment first before proceeding. Ensure she understands her passes, even with face or finger unlock enabled. If she needs a backup, hide it cleverly—like mixing her birthdate within the data so only she can decipher which characters to skip. This way, a thief wouldn’t have enough information. I’ve discovered this method works best because older users tend to type passwords directly instead of relying on obfuscation.
