Steam Support refuses to issue a refund for a product that fails to function properly. The issue appears to be that the game doesn’t launch at all, closing instantly. Despite this, I recently purchased it during a sale and haven’t even started playing yet. Because of this, I’m compelled to contact my bank to dispute the charge. The only relevant information available is about chargebacks, not payment disputes. My worry is that Steam’s support page doesn’t address such scenarios, leaving me with the possibility of account lockout. Has anyone else filed a bank dispute for a Steam purchase where the item was faulty or non-functional from the beginning? I’m curious whether my account got locked or if I still have access. I shared this on Steam Reddit, but the bot automatically closed the discussion, which is really annoying.

It's a puzzle game, and I'm running on a modern desktop with a powerful GPU.

It's a childhood favorite. Rollercoaster Tycoon 2: Triple Thrill Pack presents a puzzling experience—what seems right at launch feels off, suggesting the issue lies in its design rather than just its age.

They'll just lock certain features and make it limited until your payments are shown to be valid again. It sounds like you're also past the time frame for refunding, one of the downsides of waiting to play games from sales. Older games and early access ones are iffy at best and there's no guarantee beyond the refund window period that it will work.

There are ways to verify this situation. You should be able to check your account status and transaction history on Steam to see if the game is active or if there are any issues. Regarding locked features, Steam typically restricts access to certain in-game items or services when a purchase fails, which could explain why you're unable to play.

I get the annoyance when games don’t work properly, especially when they’re priced at full price but were sold at a discount. Is it really worth contacting your credit card company and attempting a chargeback for a small amount that might be just a few dollars? I’ve discovered some instructions on the Steam Community forum that could help resolve the problem. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/f...=802832319 https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/f...=338892327 Give them a look and see if it works.
