I've observed the internet becoming much slower when my mum streams YouTube on the Chromecast. It seems the high bandwidth usage from 1920x1080 resolution is likely the cause. Do you know how to adjust the Chromecast's resolution or reduce its bandwidth consumption to lower the quality? I only have an 11mbps package with Sky and can't modify that.

Get a fire stick or a Roku so you don’t have two devices interfering with your Wi-Fi and disrupting the network. What’s really causing the issues is likely what I believe. Also, you might be able to adjust the video settings on the device you’re streaming from.

However, purchasing Sky would mean Comcast would also hold assets in the UK, as they would acquire ownership of those properties.
