Building on my earlier comment, I also planned to increase the RAM in my old HP laptop since it only had 4GB. To my surprise, when I opened the machine, the RAM was easily removable and featured two slots; only one was filled with a 4GB stick. I checked online using the existing part number and discovered a nearly matching RAM module, which I ordered. I’m still unsure if combining both modules would work for Dual-Channel configuration (see attached images). Additionally, I’m not certain whether the HP OEM motherboard supports Dual-Channel, as having two slots doesn’t guarantee it.
