Yes, that's correct. When using Windows for backups, ensure the folder named "WindowsImage" remains unchanged and is located exactly where it is. For restoration purposes, keep the same name and position. Additionally, prepare a bootable USB drive to recover data if needed.

Chose just one USB for the clean install, even though it means relying on my main storage. It’s a bit surprising given the 160GB system image—it likely includes the whole drive plus OS.

Consider reaching out to a friend on Windows 8.1 for help creating a rescue media. It can be useful if something goes wrong and you need to restore your system from an image. The Windows 10 installation disc may also work, though I'm not certain.
