Occasionally my screen illumination happens when the system is powered down, but I can't figure out why. My setup includes a Gigabyte x670 Gaming X motherboard, an AMD RYZEN 5 7600 CPU, a GeForce RTX 4070 with Ventus 3X graphics, and an Acer VG272 monitor. I suspect Plouffe might have experience with similar displays.

What kind of cable links your monitor to your PC? I tried this with my son's setup a while ago. His monitors would suddenly turn on without any apparent reason. I looked online, checked everything, but nothing helped. The only solution that worked was swapping out the display port cables for better quality ones. I wasn't sure if they had faulty ones before, but after replacing them, the issue disappeared. To verify, try using a DP cable with an extra HDMI cable—disconnect the DP cable completely and see how it behaves.

you have two monitors set to display on dual panel mode but only your main screen works. i’ve adjusted various settings in bios and monitor controls without success. turning on erp once didn’t help much, but i thought it would resolve the issue. a search on the internet suggested disabling wake on lan, though i couldn’t locate that option in bios. some sources said erp would turn it off automatically, but i’m not sure. when i have time to unplug everything, i plan to switch the dp cables and test hdmi connections. thanks for your advice.

It might simply be that the cable deteriorated. Both my son and I use two monitors, but I shared the same cables (higher quality from Monoprice). Only my son experienced the problem, affecting both displays. After swapping his cables (presumably Ugreen ones), the issue disappeared. I haven’t used my own cables recently, and they’ve always worked fine across different builds with the same cables and monitors (my cables, not his, I discarded).
