B650 MSI gaming setup with Wi-Fi included, white VGA indicator lights during M.2 installation
I've set up a new PC for a friend with these specs: 9600x16GB RAM DDR5 B650 MSI gaming plus Wi-Fi. When I try to add an M.2 drive in slot 1 or 2, the system won't boot and I see a solid white VGA light. Removing the M.2 works—Bios shows up after a recent update. I feel like I've checked everything. Just want to install Windows onto the M.2 now. The last step is tricky; I can get to the installation but only if it isn't already installed from boot. If I install it in the middle and refresh the boot drive, it fails. Need any help!
I've updated the motherboard, RAM, and other components, but the problem persists. It might be related to the BIOS settings.
Avoid installing it while the machine is running! Have you verified the SSD on another device? It could be faulty. This unit connects straight to PCIe, so damage might affect the GPU.
